Monthly subscriptions, shared usage credits, extra credits and plan limits.

Every plan can use every replica size, from Extra Small to Extra Large, for apps and managed databases alike; plans differ in the number of replicas per service and the size of a persistent volume. Replica limits apply per service; storage size applies per persistent volume. Monthly credits are shared across the project. Persistent volumes are available on every plan, including Hobby. The volume sizes above are not the project’s total storage allowance or the disk size of a managed database.
Included usage
Hobby includes $15 of usage credits per month, Advanced $50 and Professional $200. These credits are shared across the project’s apps, workers, databases, storage and other billable usage. They are not a separate allowance for each service, and the base subscription price is not a quote for a complete application stack.
If usage stays within the included credits and you have no extra credits on your subscription, you pay only the base subscription fee. Usage beyond the included credits requires extra credits at $1 per credit. Larger replica sizes draw more credits, but no size requires a higher plan.
Included usage credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over.
Examples on Hobby:
- Resource usage of $5, with no extra credits on your subscription. Your monthly bill is $9, because usage is within the included $15.
- Resource usage of $20. Add $5 of extra credits to cover usage above the included $15. With those credits on your subscription, the next renewal is $14 ($9 base fee + $5 of extra credits).
- Usage falls back to $5. The renewal remains $14 until you reduce or remove the $5 of extra credits. Removing them takes effect at the start of the next billing period.
The same logic applies to Advanced and Professional with their own base fees and included credits.
Extra credits
If you need more than the included credits, purchase extra credits at $1 per credit. The credit balance in the control panel is displayed in dollars.
Purchased credits are added to your subscription and recur each billing period until you reduce or remove them. At the next renewal, you pay the base subscription fee plus the extra credits on your subscription.
Reducing or removing extra credits takes effect at the start of the next billing period. A drop in resource usage does not automatically remove extra credits from your subscription.
The base subscription fee is fixed, but the total bill is not guaranteed to stay unchanged when resource usage grows. Apps, workers, databases and storage all draw from the same credit balance. Traffic is never billed — not inbound, not outbound, not between services.
